Akiko Shibata, Vice President, Business Operations

Ms. Shibata has spent 15 years in the U.S. pharmaceutical and biotech industry, primarily in business development and product marketing and management functions. Prior to joining Ocera, she was a principal at Domain Associates, a healthcare-focused venture capital firm. While at Domain, she was engaged in company creation projects, deal analysis, business development for portfolio companies and due diligence research into investment opportunities. She also held key senior business development positions at Sunesis Pharmaceuticals, Chiron Corporation, Elan Pharmaceuticals, and Baxter Healthcare. In addition, she served as Global Product Manager for the Biotech Division of Baxter.
