Laurent Fischer, M.D., President and CEO

Dr. Fischer is the co-founder of Ocera, and a member of the board of directors.  He brings more than 15 years of drug development and commercial experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. He has been involved in four healthcare venture start-ups. Previously, he was President and CEO of Auxeris Therapeutics. He has also held senior management positions at DuPont-Merck, DuPont Pharmaceuticals, and Hoffmann-LaRoche and was responsible for three drug launches: Invirase®, Fortovase®, and Sustiva®. Dr. Fischer serves on the board of directors of Panacos, and is the chair of the board of directors of the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, the world’s largest provider of AIDS care.
