Dr. Fischer brings over 18 years of drug development and commercialization experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. He has been involved in and managed four healthcare companies and held senior management positions at DuPont-Merck, DuPont Pharmaceuticals, and Hoffmann-La Roche. Dr Fischer was responsible for the launch of Invirase®, the first protease inhibitor, and Sustiva® the first once-daily anti-HIV now part of the fixed dose combination therapy Atripla®. Dr. Fischer is the Chairman of the board of directors of Tobira Therapeutics, a company developing a CCR5/CCR2 inhibitor and serves on the board of the global AIDS Healthcare Foundation, the largest HIV/AIDS treatment organization.
